Abstract [eng] Cross-linked starch derivatives having tertiary amino groups (TKKA) were obtained by modifying native or cross-linked starch with mixture of epichlorohydrin (EPCH) and biogenic amines (cadaverine or histamine) or amonia in alkaline medium. Starch derivatives with a higher amount of attached nitrogen were obtained in reaction mixture consisting of NH4OH and EPCH. The equilibrium adsorption of chlorogenic acid (CLR) on TKKA with different amount of introduced nitrogen has been investigated. The Lengmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich adsorption models have been used to describe the obtained adsorption isotherms. It was found that adsorption takes place due to the electrostatic interactions between the ionized tertiary amino groups of modified starch and the CLR carboxyl groups. The conditions for adsorption to proceed are favorable.Thermodynamic parameters have been calculated. CLR adsorbed onto TATK can be released into solution of 0.1 M HCl or phosphate buffer (pH=6.8). CLR immobilized onto TATK showed the higher and prolonged antioxidant effectiveness in comparison with CLR in solution.
