Abstract [eng] |
This final Master’s degree project is focused on the reliability analysis of IEC 61850-9-2 protocol based distance protection. In the theoretical part, the Sampled Values protocol, its operation principle and structure were examined. Topologies of the electric substation network as well as topologies of the reliability of network were also analysed. In addition, the operation of distance protection was overviewed. In the practical part, the duration among Sampled Values packets were analysed, with ring and redundancy topologies present, and by using practical equipment. In the second part of the analysis, the reliability of the substation network topologies was examined. The reliability of systems was analysed by employing cascading, ring and redundancy topologies. In the third part of the analysis, the Sampled Values protocol was applied to the distance protection. A distance protection model was created in the “Simulink” environment. In order to reveal how the distance protection operated when one or more Sampled Values packets were lost, the designed model had been tested with the Sampled Values protocol. |
