The different types of biofuels are characterized by different combustion characteristics. This paper reviews the main biofuel-related problems: corrosion risk, slag formation, fouling, low ash melting temperature, gaseous emissions. In order to avoid these problems predictive calculator was made for evaluation of combustion-relevant properties of biomass fuels. Applicability of this calculator was evaluated in real-scale biofuel combustion plant. This prognostic tool can be applied for the accurate qualitative predictions of different biomass fuels. |
