In this final master's degree project, investigation of activated sludge process in industrial reactor is carried out. One of the main goals of this project is to use an activated sludge model for a design and investigation of adaptive dissolved oxygen concentration control system. Activated sludge mathematical model is enhanced with an addition of effluent quality calculations. Moreover, enhanced process simulator is used for simulation of various technological regimes and system responses to disturbances. Modelling results are used for the design of PI controller adaptation algorithms (gain scheduling). A methodology of adaptive control system design is presented, it is based on relationship between controller parameters and flow rate of wastewater influent, and simulation of adaptive control system is carried out. Results and recommendations for a design of adaptive dissolved oxygen control system are presented in the project. |
