| Abstract [eng] |
The final master's project analyzed partial discharge characteristics and parameters of the solid insulation. Simulation model was adapted to calculate partial discharges characteristics and parameters, including fault location calculation. Doble PD smart device was used for cable of solid insulation (XLPE) testing for direct measurement of partial discharges. The test simulated a defect in the insulation of the cable. Because of the defect, partial discharges were registered. Obtained parameters were used to determine the characteristics of partial discharges. Location of the defect in the cable insulation was determined by using Doble PD smart function “Fault Location”. |
