Abstract [eng] |
The beginnings of the sociology science date back to the times of the Great French Revolution. Since that time the scientists of various countries significantly contributed to the creation of the methods of sociology. Meanwhile in Lithuania sociological investigations for a long time were limited by the ideology of the Soviet Union. After the restoration of independence the Lithuanian scientists (sociologists) came across an abundance of various methodological schools and methods. Till present there are no collected empiric data which would reveal the tendencies of employment of the methods of social investigations in the scientific papers of sociologists during independence. However, investigations of similar character are performed in other countries during the investigations of the situation of sociology science of those countries. So prerequisites to perform analogous investigation in respect of Lithuanian sociology have appeared. The aim set in the paper has been to analyze the application of the methods of social investigations in the scientific articles of sociology field in Lithuania. In order to reach this aim it has been decided to perform the quantitative analysis of the content. The sampling has been formed from 411 scientific articles of sociology field published during the period of 1992-2012. The obtained investigation results have indicated that more than a half of the scientific articles which fell to the sampling were of empiric character. In them in more than a half of the articles the quantitative investigation methodology was applied. During the investigation of the distribution of the articles in respect of the author‘s gender it has been elucidated that the authorship of more than one half of the articles belongs to the representatives of female sex. That reflects the general distribution of men and women in the sphere of social sciences. After the analysis of the obtained data one can arrive at a conclusion that in the case of the investigated sampling the scientific articles coming along most often were of empiric character, with the methodology of quantitative investigation, written by a scientist of female gender. |
