Abstract [eng] |
In this work, research is about paradox in architecture and urban planning relationship. This paradox is mostly visible in highrise and deconstructivism architecture. The essence of this paradox is that there is no clear limit between architecture and urbanism. The building itself can ignore its architectural context of the city. This is more like an advantage for the building, but thats because urbanism does not disrupt this difference, or on the contuary dissrupts. In this work , the phenomenon is used to revitalize neglected city parts. Literature analysis , sociological survey and building facade architecture study using fractal analysis method has been done to study the phenomena. Research results has been used for designing modern art gallery in Lithuania, Kaunas, to revitalize the unused land site near the St. Karmelitų church and monastery ensemble. The point for designing modern art gallery is to create the paradox phenomena, use it and find solutions to problems and teoretical issues which arose while doing research. |
