Abstract [eng] |
Relevance of the theme. Network is a social world compiled of participants, interactions, connections and events (Skeberdyte, 2015). The experience of foreign countries shows that the stronger connecting social networks are created, the greater attention is given to deaf community. Regarding the experience of foreign countries, the conclusion is that in Lithuania prevail only weak social networks between deaf and hearing communities. In order to integrate the isolated group of deaf community into the society it is necessary to link into social network where institutions and organizations of deaf community would be able to share their experience, knowledge and other resources with medical, educational, business institutions, media and etc. Network with strong connections and overall aim would eliminate or at least reduce factors of social and institutional isolation and would provide more fulfilling life for Lithuanian deaf community. Issue of the research – what are the possibilities of the development of Lithuanian deaf community’s social network? Object of the research – the development of social network. Aim of the research – to formulate the model of the mobilization of Lithuanian deaf community’s social network. Objectives of the research: 1. To make the problematic analysis of the establishment of Lithuanian deaf community’s social network; 2. To reveal theoretical aspects of the creation of the network; 3. To identify possibilities of the development of Lithuanian deaf community’s social network; 4. To justify the model of the mobilization of Lithuanian deaf community’s social network. Main results of the research. In the social network‘s intervention scheme the narrow primary network consists of the organizations and institutions of hearing-impaired people. The main body of the network is Lithuanian Deaf Association. Formal secondary network consists of business representatives, national institutions, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, media and television, private and public medical institutions. The strongest connections exist in the primary network. Volunteers are the strongest connection between primary and secondary network. The weakest it is between Lithuanian Deaf Association and business members, television, national institutions. Effective coordination and mobilization of social network requires partners for cooperation, resources and activity. It is important to mention that the participants of the network who are sharing knowledge, information, experience and other resources, and also performing formal/informal activity create not only social but also intellectual capital which has a potential to create value. |
