Abstract [eng] |
The investigation of energy saving building elements is a paramount issue at this moment when EU Directives focus on achieving new goals regarding energy performance of buildings and energy efficiency. This work is focused on the investigation of thermal bridges of a new high-performance windows installation. This work aims to investigate in detail the thermal properties of the window installed in the thermal insulation layer and to compare different installation methods and thermal bridge evaluation methodologies from the point of view of thermal physics. The results show that, comparing the obtained values of the thermal bridge according to 2D and 3D calculation methods, the values show a difference of 68%. Furthermore, the arrangement of the values of the thermal bridge according to the distance from the load-bearing wall took the opposite trend. Therefore, when designing energy-efficient buildings, it is risky to evaluate thermal bridges only with the 2D methodology. |
