Master's project topic is “Analysis of Legalization Process of Euthanasia in the Republic of Lithuania”. The topic of the project is relevant, because adoption of the euthanasia law is related with patients' rights and the opportunity to choose. Medical ethics, Christian church ideology and members of the Seimas provisions leads to discussions in society between supporters and opponents of euthanasia and to the situation when decisions related to euthanasia decisions related to euthanasia are not being made. The novelty of project lies in the fact that the political system concept was applied to the analysis of legalization of euthanasia for the first time. The aim of the project is: to analyze the legalization process of euthanasia in the Republic of Lithuania. The object of the research is: the factors and actors of legalization process of euthanasia. The objectives of the project: 1. To analyze the theoretical aspects of political system and public policy process. 2. To analyze the concept of euthanasia and the importance of rights to life. 3. To discuss and compare euthanasia policy in the European Union countries. 4. To identify the Lithuanian political system actors affecting the legalization of euthanasia, and to evaluate their role in this process. 5. To chronologically investigate the process of legalization of euthanasia in the Republic of Lithuania. |
