Abstract [eng] |
In this master`s thesis a high speed mobile railway network in railway line Vilnius - Kaunas is being designed. For the mobile network LTE technology is being used, data transmission is being done through existing optical networks. In the first part, the project`s relevancy, existing GSM-R network infrastructure and similar objects used in foreign railways are being analysed. In the second part high speed mobile network and Wi-Fi access technologies are being evaluated, network throughput maximisation methods are reviewed. In the third part LTE network compatibility with GSM networks and options to ensure compatibility are being analysed. This part concludes with a network designing plan. In the project part a LTE mobile network is designed, required hardware is chosen and network throughput requirements are being calculated. Using Cellular Expert software, network coverage, coverage probability, uplink and downlink data rates are being calculated with different network parameters and configurations. Access point location is calculated by using Aerohive software. The work is concluded with an economical evaluation – network installation costs, project`s income and payback time are being counted. |
