The subject of Master‘s Thesis – „Non-governmental Organizations in Social Policy-making in Lithuania: Case of Kretinga District Municipality“. NGO participation in shaping social policy in Lithuania is the relevance of social changes that society is closely related to people's social status changes, increasing the social and political importance. Social policy is state-run and people of all social groups, income distribution and regulation of property relations to social justice and equality, but social policy objectives and measures mainly depends on the country's political orientation. Social policy, by its very nature corresponds to the most important public policy and public administration, but to date, the formation of social policy in the country is included in the activities of various institutions, organizations, and non-governmental organizations alongside. Social policy issues, the NGO provided services require lower costs, because the NGO additional uses volunteers and compassionate way the money collected. In actuality it leads to the development of NGOs working continuously changing economic and social factors, where the NGO often acts as a mediator. Problem: passive participation of NGO, social policy-making process. Project object: NGO involvement in social policy-making process. Project goal: to investigate the non-governmental organizations to participate in shaping social policy Kretinga district municipality. Project objectives: to describe the NGO concept and forms of participation in politics, to identify the NGOs social policy-making, Kretinga district municipality, analyze Kretinga district municipality, the approach to cooperation and social policy making with NGO. Methods: literature and document analysis, questionnaire, content analysis, comparative analysis, organization, grouping, graphical presentation. Work also provides the basic conclusion that non-governmental organizations are willing to contribute to the realization of social policy in Kretinga region, but they are hampered by their internal problems that need to be restructured, and this may result NGO contribute to passive social policy. |
