The relevance of the research. Thermal insulation of buildings is currently the most important issue, and it is rather difficult to select the most effective insulation material from the abundance available. Therefore, in order to take the most rational decision, we can use multiple criteria for assessment. A number of theorists in decision-making systems have offered a variety of methods and models, by applying which we can deal with problems arising from the adoption of multicriterial solutions when the most effective option is selected from a variety of options described by various indicators systems. The research problem. The problem being investigated is how to summarise and compare comprehensively the performance indicators of insulation materials expressed by different measurement units. The aim of the research is to apply multicriterial decision-making methods in order to offer the most efficient insulation material that would be fitted together with a wooden frame. The objectives of the research: 1) to describe the multicriterial TOPSIS method (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution); 2) provide a multicriterial model for the assessment of performance of thermal insulation materials; 3) offer the most efficient insulation material. The object of research – wooden-frame insulation of the external walls of large-plate houses constructed using 300 mm-thick single-layer plates of expanded clay concrete. The research methods: analysis of literature, the multicriterial TOPSIS method, the SISTELA computer software for preparing estimates. |
