Abstract [eng] The article is focused on the experience of suffering of the righteous and god-fearing man – Job. It is shown how metaphysical contours of suffering expose themselves when foundations of existence shiver. Existen- tial Job’s questions, such as “why did this happen to me?”, “what can I expect?”, “who will rebuild me?”, transcend the boundaries of human existence and are readdressed to transcendence. It is analysed what answer is received by Job from God and if God wins over the threatening non-existence by recovering the sloping existence. The article attempts to highlight how Job’s existence is transformed by the counteraction of transcendence and investigates what are the conditions for the interaction between existence and tran- scendence. It is also questioned how an attitude towards reality interacts with reality. Finally, it is sug- gested what could be expected from the Christian existentialism other than traditional one.
