Abstract [eng] For today's student, a notebook and a textbook alone are no longer enough. With the advancement of modern technology, new ways of teaching and learning are emerging. The supply of virtual tools has made foreign language teaching a dynamic, active, and inclusive educational process that is increasingly suited to the different needs of learners. The aim of the final project is to enable gymnasium students to deepen their English language knowledge and skills, using a virtual environment developed according to the developed methodology of applying virtual tools to meet the English language learning needs of gymnasium students. The wide choice of virtual tools poses a challenge for teachers and students to choose which virtual tools are most effective for different language learning activities. To find out which tools and methods are the most suitable for language learning, the peculiarities of English language learning, the needs of determining the level of English, virtual teaching / learning tools and their experiences in English language learning were analyzed. After fulfilling the need of gymnasium students to deepen their English language knowledge and skills by virtual means, a methodology for deepening English language knowledge and skills of gymnasium students was developed. When designing the virtual learning environment for deepening the English language skills of gymnasium students, the functional and non-functional requirements of the virtual learning system users were analyzed, the necessary subsystems for the implementation of the environment were presented, Moodle, Canva and Microsoft SharePoint content management system were compared. After comparing the functional possibilities and non-functional requirements, the methodology for deepening the English language knowledge and skills of gymnasium students is implemented in the content management system Microsoft SharePoint and the communication and collaboration platform Microsoft Teams. Following the implementation of the methodology for deepening English language knowledge and skills, an evaluation of the virtual learning environment was conducted to assess the usefulness and suitability of the environment for deepening English language knowledge and skills. Respondents appreciated the virtual learning environment and the choice of virtual teaching / learning tools. The virtual learning environment has been found to meet learners ’expectations.
