Abstract [eng] The COVID-19 pandemic had some impact on virtually everyone. People’s daily routines were turned upside down, as was the working environment. The COVID-19 crisis affected employees and employers alike, requiring the latter to completely transform conventional work practices in a relatively short period of time or risk a complete shutdown. Meanwhile, employees had to change their work methods and to adapt to different working conditions: most had to transition to working from home, some were faced with an increased workload, and some were made redundant and were forced to reassess their professional aims and goals. The number of older employees in Europe is growing, and so is their employment rate. In turn, organizations face certain challenges pertaining to age diversity in their human resource pool. It is likely that older employees were more affected by the pandemic, because individuals in this age group generally find it harder to acclimatise to radical change.
