During the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses all around the world were affected by the restrictions and the prevailing uncertainty. Countries have been hit by economic shocks, forcing companies to take a range of measures and adapt factors to help them survive in an uncertain environment and become resilient to the challenges caused by pandemic. Many companies were not prepared in advance to operate in an environment affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and they often took untested actions. As global GDP fell sharply, consumer demand changed dramatically, and global supply disruptions forced companies to react quickly to keep their businesses afloat. Manufacturing companies had to look for new markets, reorganize their supply chains, innovate, make new connections, find new sources of financing, and offer new products, and so on. In this work, such factors are treated as resistance factors. They may be different in each industry, therefore, in order to find out what measures companies belonging to the Lithuanian garment manufacturing sector must take, an empirical study is conducted in this work - interviews with 5 companies. The aim of the study is to identify factors of organizational resilience in the Lithuanian garment production sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. The object of the study is the factors of resilience. Research tasks: 1. substantiate the issue of organizational resilience research in the garment production sector in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic; 2. to examine the theoretical and practical assumptions of the research of the factors of organizational resilience; 3. to develop a methodology for investigating the determinants of business resilience in the garment production sector in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic; 4. to carry out an empirical study of the determinants of business resilience in the Lithuanian garment production sector in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research methods: comparative and systematic analysis of the latest scientific literature and information sources, graphical representation methods were used in the theoretical assessment of the factors of company resilience. Qualitative empirical research is conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews. The text encoding program "MAXQDA" was used for the analysis (coding and processing) of qualitative data. |
