The digital transformation of companies is an important part of European Union policy. Advances in digital technology are changing the wide range of societal activities we can commonly call the digital transformation. Digital technologies are changing our daily lives, working methods and communication. Lithuanian industry is demonstrating its ambition to become a leader in innovation in the EU and other industrially related regions, aiming to focus on creating higher added value. The digital transformation opens up many opportunities for companies to strengthen innovation, growth and competitiveness in a global context. The aim of the study - to study the success factors of digital transformation of manufacturing companies and to substantiate the assumptions of their formation. The object of this research - digital transformation success factors. Research tasks: 1. To argue the need for research on the success factors of digital transformation; 2. To study the theoretical and practical assumptions of research on the success factors of digital transformation of companies; 3. To develop a research methodology for the success factors of digital transformation of companies; 4. Empirically investigate the success factors of companies' digital transformation and substantiate the assumptions of their formation. Research methods. A case study was selected for the study. Manufacturing companies that successfully implement digital transformation were selected for the analysis. The case study was chosen for the study because this research strategy enables detailed, in-depth case studies based on a large number of sources of social information and a wide variety of social research methods. Concentrated attention is paid to the examination of specific cases. The units of analysis selected in this study are company managers who are best acquainted with the activities of their companies and their digitization processes. The interview method was used to collect data by interviewing respondents live or remotely. Success factors for companies with a successful digital transformation are analyzed through strategy implementation, process management, rational use of resources, strengthening of competitive advantage, and relevant management perspectives. Research results. The study identifies the most important success factors for business leaders, which they believe determine the success of the digital transformation process. According to the study, leadership or a top-level manager’s approach to digitization is perhaps the most important success factor for a successful digital transformation. The innovative approach of the manager to change and digital technologies determines the chosen vision of the company, contributes to employee motivation, support of the transformation process with resources, creation of a favorable cultural and organizational environment for digitization processes and synergetic effect in implementing the company's business strategy. |
