Abstract [eng] |
The transport logistics sector is inevitably facing the challenges of digitalization in order to remain competitive in today's environment and to grow and improve. Technology-driven business process management is clearly changing the way this business is organized, impacting the entire supply chain and the logistics sector. The fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, and the new system that has emerged from it, Logistics 4.0, are increasingly influencing the activities of freight forwarding companies, which are influencing the actors in the logistics chain to organize their processes in real time, in line with customer demand and other external factors. External factors, certain trends that promote competitiveness, corporate distinctiveness and modernity, i.e. corporate social responsibility, legal regulation of activities, etc., condition the management of the business processes of freight transport companies. The master thesis analyses the concept of business processes, business process maturity models, their application and the impact of the new "smart" system Logistics 4.0 on the activities of freight forwarding companies. Logistics services, including road freight services, are carried out by freight forwarders. The complexity of the synthesis of transport and logistics systems, the dynamics of transport chains, the management and the operational areas of processes are still subjects of little research. Therefore, by combining the three elements of freight transport, business process maturity and logistics into a single entity, an empirical study has been carried out on the maturity of business process management of a freight transport company in the context of Logistics 4.0. The aim of the paper is to identify the level of business process maturity of a freight forwarding company in the context of Logistics 4.0 and to propose solutions for business process improvement. The results of the empirical study in the freight forwarding company Gabentra showed that the maturity of the company's processes in the context of Logistics 4.0 is not at the lowest level, but that the overall maturity of business process management is only at the first level. This assessment is strongly influenced by other dimensions assessed, such as process documentation, identification of hosts, and the attitude of top management towards process-based business management. |
