Abstract [eng] |
The huge changes currently taking place in the world are conditioned by the prevailing fourth and the start of the fifth industrial revolution. Based on the scale and speed of industries, geographical locations, labour markets, mobility, data sharing, knowledge dissemination and technological progress, these revolutions are becoming a unique and exponential phenomenon for every organization. Already, organisations are changing their business strategy in response to growing international competition, a changing workforce and an increasingly complex working environment. However, it is difficult for the employees to experience these changes. While these changes in strategy accelerate the realisation of the goals set by the organisation, it has to be acknowledged that individuals find it difficult to survive these changes. Whether the change initiative is in the form of restructuring, reduction of financial resources, introduction of new technologies, mergers or acquisitions, organisations are making greater demands on employees. In this constant state of flow, employees need to adapt to their changing environment in order to survive and thrive. |
