Changes create challenges for organizations, which strategy is the best, how to plan, accept, manage changes. Knowing how to adapt to change not only defines the longevity and success of the organization but also ensures organizational prosperity in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (Fabio, Duradoni, 2020). Organizational changes are crucial for the development, growth, success, and survival of organizations operating in an ever-changing environment. The problem raised by this work. People are not opposed to change. On the contrary, they oppose uncertainty and possible results caused by changes (Bierwolf, 2019). The problem of work is formulated: how does workers’ resistance to change manifest itself? The object of the work is resistance to change. The latter is revealed through the purpose of the work, which aims to analyze the expression of workers’ resistance to change, in the context of organizational changes. The following work tasks have been formulated: to analyze the concept of change in the organization, identifying the main reasons for resistance to change; to reveal trends in the expression of workers’ resistance to change in terms of the experience of personnel managers; to examine the trends in the expression of resistance to changes among the employees of production companies in Panevėžys. The work carried out an analysis of scientific literature, which examines and presents theoretical insights into the concepts of change and the expression of resistance to change. The reasons for workers’ resistance to change are identified. Strategies and methods for managing resistance to change are revealed in this work as well. The study carried out is based on quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative research instrument – a questionnaire designed to disclose the experience of employees identified during changes in the organization. A descriptive analysis of the content of the qualitative study is provided. The theoretical significance of the work. To clarify the concept of resistance to change, the reasons for resistance to change, and the strategies of overcoming, the latest scientific literature was analyzed. Theoretical insights on resistance to change were provided, the main causes of resistance to change were identified, and strategies for managing resistance to change were reviewed. The practical significance of the work. Qualitative and quantitative research instruments have been developed to reveal the expression of resistance of employees to changes. The results of the research show the employees’ attitude towards changes in the organization, the dominant reaction to changes, the sensations associated with the changes being carried out. The results obtained allow the assessment of the resistance and the adoption of appropriate measures to overcome resistance. |
