Abstract [eng] |
Microcapsules are used in many fields, such as medicine, the food industry or the textile industry, due to the ability to release the microcapsule active agent at a specific location and at the right time. Microcapsules finishing for textiles can give the product new properties such as flame retardancy, antibacterial or odour. Terry fabrics finished with microcapsules were selected for the dissertation research. In order to create high quality products with added value, it is important to analyse how the finish of the microcapsules changes the structure parameters, physical and mechanical properties of the terry fabric, and to develop mathematical models to predict the quality parameters. Due to terry fabric special structure, they are most often used in humid environments (bathrooms, saunas or kitchen rooms), as their terry surface is able to absorb a larger amount of water compared to fabrics consisting of two yarn systems. Therefore, one of the most important physical properties of terry fabrics is the absorption and air permeability, as it depends on how comfortable the user will wear the product, how it will suit in the environment in which it is intended to be used. And the analysed mechanical properties showed how the microcapsule finishing improves the long lastingness, durability and appearance of the terry fabric. |
